BOOK UPDATE - 25 AUG 2017
Here is the latest Outline and Progress Metrics. As you can see I am getting close to finishing. I will be collating the individual WORD documents into a single document, make final edits and additions. At which point I will be ready for manuscript submissions. I will probably look into 3-4 publishers; already have selected WestBow Press as one of my potential publishers.

Distillation and the Book Outlining Process
I must admit I
enjoy watching the TV show Moonshiners, an American docudrama television series
on the Discovery Channel that dramatizes the life of people who produce
(illegal) moonshine in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, Virginia,
and South Carolina.
Although I do not drink alcohol,
I’m still drawn to the characters from this American subculture; a culture which,
as a born and raised Northeastern suburbanite, is foreign to me. I love it when the show runs subtitles on some
of the characters who speak with such a heavy southern dialect that you need
the subtitles to understand what they are saying – even though they are
speaking English.
In addition, as
an educated Chemical Engineer, I have always been fascinated with the
distillation process and distillation equipment (e.g., fractionating columns). The making of the moonshine involves a simple
batch distillation process, separating the fermentation produced alcohol from
the other still liquids.
Distillation
is a process of separating the
component substances from a liquid mixture by selective evaporation and
condensation. Distillation may result in essentially complete separation (nearly pure
components), or it may be a partial separation that increases the concentration
of selected components of the mixture.
--- Wikipedia (Distillation).
Fractionating Column |
While
working on my new Creation Book project, I’m becoming keenly aware of the application
of the distillation process and the writing process, at least as it relates to
the scoping and outlining the structure and content of the book. I have gone through at least three totally
different book outlines and main thesis objectives for the book. For each new book revision there is a
distilling down of data and information to a more concentrated, and hopefully a
more enjoyable read.
As they say in the intro to the show ... “This
is how we make the moonshine.”
For me ... “This is how I
make my outline.”

Book Project: UPDATE
The following is the final outline of
my Creation book.
I'm sure I’ll make some final tweaks here and there, as necessary.
Still working in Scrivener – seems like a really cool tool.
I’m still targeting 300 pages, or approximately 10,000 words per chapter – 100,000 words overall. I plan on working on
the figures, tables, quotes and scripture references for each chapter, for the
rest of the month of February and start writing the text on the 6th of March (Monday).

The Law of Dominion Naming
Look at the photo of the dense star formation at the bottom
of the blog and consider that each of the million, or perhaps billion, points of
light recorded, are stars. Further
consider some of the points of light are actually galaxies of billions, even trillions, of stars. The incredible
number of stars in this photo, is just a minute fraction of the total number of stars in our universe.
Now contemplate the awesome truth that not only did God
create such a masterpiece, He keeps a count and has a name for each and every one
of the stars in the entire universe (Psalm 147:4), even the new stars that are, and will, be forming.
This principle is known as the Law of Dominion Naming;
the Creator, Who has dominion over all His creation, is the one who has the
authority to name each of the entities of His creation.
We know from scripture that God has delegated to man (Adam) the
authority to rule over all terrestrial animals.
We see this in Genesis 1:28, when God gave Adam dominion over the animal
kingdom and then, as a consequence of this delegation of authority by God, Adam
is tasked with naming the animals (Genesis 2:19) -- notice animals are brought to Adam by God.
Now consider that fact that as a believer you are a new
creation (2 Corinthians 5:17), you have become a child of God (John 1:12). You will be named by God; we are told in
Revelation 3:12 (Christ’s letter to the church in Philadelphia), that we, as
believers, will receive Christ’s new name, the name of the heavenly city of God
(citizenship name, akin to being named a Roman citizen) and the name of God in
the heaven (kingship name, akin to being named subject of King Alexander the
Great).
Never forget, as a believer you have great import to the
King and His Kingdom. Your awards await
in that great city, including your naming ceremony when the King Himself will
give you a new and everlasting name.

Light versus Darkness
In
the opening verses of Genesis and the Gospel of John we see the contrast
between Light and Darkness. Out of
darkness God injects light. There is a
creating and then a forming, by dividing or separating.
Darkness and light are immutable,
mutually exclusive entities. There is no
mixing of light and darkness – light does not mingle with darkness in the physical
universe.
The same is true in the
supernatural or spiritual realm.
Light in the supernatural represents the understanding and acceptance of
the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Apart from
Christ there is utter darkness. His
light is the light of man. In Him there
is no darkness at all.
Have
you ever considered, the nominal state of the universe is darkness - sure there
are points of light we call stars, but the basic backdrop of the universe is
darkness.
However we are told in Revelation,
Heaven is flooded with light, there is no night (darkness) in that great city - the new Jerusalem. There will be no need for points of light
(Sun, Moon and Stars), Jesus will the light that will fill all of Heaven, for all eternity. That is your destiny if you are a child of God.
Walk
in the Light of Heaven today. Bask in the Light of Christ. Heaven awaits.

NEW Creation Book Project
I am currently working on a book about Creation. There will be two major sections, one with chapters related to the Framework of Creation and the other with chapters related to the Beings of Creation. I will touch upon, but not go into any depth on the Process of Creation, instead this book will explore what God created, not how He created it.
I am targeting the completed work to be ~300 pages (~100,000 words). My internal milestones are a bit aggressive - I'm looking at completing the First draft by the beginning of October, and the Final Draft by the beginning of November. I will be devoting about 16-20 hours/week for this project. I will use this blog to post updates regarding the book - so stay tuned.
